My name is Hunter Nichols. I’m a freelance photographer and filmmaker with offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Birmingham, Alabama. I work across much of the Eastern U.S. and offer a wide range of creative services including video commercials, documentaries, aerial drone photography, wedding photography, headshot photography, family portraits, architecture photography, product photography, real estate photography, and website building and design.

I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve always had a passion for the outdoors and conservation photography. This led me to study photography and art at the University of Montevallo and that quickly progressed into a love of filmmaking. I transferred to Auburn University and received a B.A. there in Radio, TV, and Film. I started freelancing in 2006 and soon founded Hunter Nichols Productions. I’m now a seasoned professional with over twelve years of experience in photography, video, and website design. I have more than four years of experience with drones and aerial photography and hold an FAA commercial drone license (UAS Remote Pilot Certificate). Over the years, I’ve developed a great relationship with many clients, small and large, including The Nature Conservancy, HBO, Coca-Cola, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Apple, Time Inc, Southern Environmental Law Center, and many more. When I’m not working for clients, you can find me canoeing down a river or hiking up a trail.

Cat Porter began collaborating on projects with Hunter Nichols Productions in 2010. She serves as an associate producer, composes music for films, operates cameras, and serves as resident "grammarian." In 2011, Cat retired from four years of professional ballet to focus on music, writing, and college. During this time, she released her debut album THE LONG HAUL. In 2017, Cat received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from UAB with a 4.0. She is now working on her Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Cat’s career goals are to use her creativity in the biomedical industry and help those in need live a higher quality of life. In her spare time, Cat continues to paint, write, produce music, and consult on various film and creative projects.
